Resin by FA was established in 2020 by Fathima Aijaz, an artist with a strong passion for crafts. This startup, based in the UAE, specializes in resin art, offering a variety of products and services centered around epoxy resin, jesmonite, and acrylic pouring. Initially a personal project during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has now grown into a successful business, producing distinctive and personalized pieces for a wide range of customers.
Crafting Unique Resin Art with Precision

Resin by FA is known for its ability to create customized resin art tailored to clients’ specifications. The startup offers a portfolio that includes large wall art for villas and studios, custom furniture pieces such as live edge wooden tables, dining tables, and wall clocks, as well as personalized bridal flower preservation. Each piece reflects Fathima’s dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail.
In addition to creating art, the startup also conducts corporate workshops, teaching resin art to groups, with some workshops accommodating over a hundred participants. This demonstrates the increasing interest in this form of art.

A significant aspect of the business involves working on 3D projects, including those for the Saudi-based project Neom, where Resin by FA’s expertise in creating realistic water effects with epoxy resin is showcased. This adaptability and willingness to explore new applications of resin art have set Resin by FA apart from other businesses in the industry.
Overcoming Challenges and Building a Vision

Resin by FA, like any startup, faced its fair share of challenges. Initially, Fathima failed to provide samples for client approval, resulting in miscommunications and dissatisfaction. Learning from this experience, she now ensures that every project starts with a clear, written agreement and a sample for client approval. This change has significantly improved customer satisfaction and project outcomes.
Another challenge was the payment structure. Initially, payments were collected after project completion, leading to occasional disputes. Fathima has since implemented a 50% upfront payment policy, ensuring better cash flow and commitment from both sides. These strategic adjustments have been crucial in navigating the early hurdles of the business.

Fathima’s journey began out of her love for art and a need to stay occupied during the pandemic. Self-taught through YouTube and Instagram, she started by creating small pieces from home. The positive response from her first workshop, which attracted 15 participants, encouraged her to pursue this passion as a full-time business. Over time, Resin by FA has grown exponentially, moving from small local orders to collaborating with large interior decorators and corporate brands like Ghawali.
Looking Ahead

Fathima envisions Resin by FA expanding beyond the UAE. Plans are underway to develop a comprehensive website to reach international markets, enhancing the brand’s online presence and accessibility. She aims to refine her marketing strategies and build a more organized and efficient business structure, positioning Resin by FA for sustained growth and success.

In just a few years, Resin by FA has carved a niche in the art world, demonstrating that with passion, adaptability, and continuous learning, a small startup can evolve into a recognized brand. With a clear vision and dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, the future of Resin by FA looks promising.
